Top tips for answering PingGo’s press release questions
Fast or slow? In one sitting, or allowed to marinade over a few days? There is no right or wrong answer and everyone finds a style that suits them. Mind you, sometimes your deadline makes that decision for you.
PingGo uses a question and answer flow to create unique press releases.
Think of PingGo as a virtual media interview. You have a journalist asking you questions about your company and the news you are announcing. Before you start, get your pitch deck or business plan in front of you. This will save you time and help you with some of the answers.
The questions are quite tricky to answer – but not impossible. They are designed to make you think about how you describe your company in a clear way that someone reading about you for the first time will understand.
Don’t worry about getting the answer wrong first time – you will have the opportunity to go back and edit your answer to make it flow within the context of the PingGo template – or just to tweak it until it communicates your message in exactly the way you want it to.
If you click on the button that says ‘more’ beside each question you will get a drop down instruction with some guidance to help you complete your answer.
My best advice is just to type your answers as quickly as possible so that you get something down on paper. The first thing you think of is likely to be right. Then go back over your press release and change it until you are absolutely happy with it.
There is also the option to invite a colleague or friend to review your press release and give their feedback. This can be really useful if you want to check that other people understand what you are trying to say.
